Sweet Song of Nature
£450
Minu Achrekar was born in India and settled in Leeds for more than 20 years. Minu is inspired both by the beautiful countryside in Yorkshire and the colours and patterns of her travels abroad. She typically uses alcohol inks as they are vibrant, and unpredictable working on a variety of substrates, and without brushes instead moving the inks patiently with tilting methods or hairdryers and straws.
She also sometimes uses mixed media to create rich, layered landscapes that bring alive the natural world and heritage to mind. Her paintings have been described as a colour shower and surreal with a dream like quality. Minu has recently completed a Mastery programme in Fine Arts with the Milan Art Institute, although has painted and exhibited widely for many years before that. She has a collector base all over the world and also exhibits in several galleries and Art fairs in the UK. Minu takes limited number of commissioned projects and conducts art classes from her studio in Leeds, UK.
